The Dog That I Never Had

His claws were furiously digging.
 His tail was wagging.
His teeth were crunching on a bone.
His jaws were munching away on food.
His nose was sniffing for a rabbit hole.
His eyes looked at the waves crashing on the rocks.
He was running around like a maniac, he is crazy.
He is mine.

Reflection

I can now explain how some pests came to New Zealand. My learning this term has been positive I now know the difference between Unit Fractions, Proper Fractions, and Improper Fractions. Next term I would like to know how to use four squaring. I really wish next term we can do some dissecting, and some science like foam snakes, glowing water, and walking water.

NZ Pests

These are some NZ pests, hope you learn something new!

Ferrets, Stoats, And Weasels
These are very common pests. They all do the same thing, they will kill an animal suck a bit of blood and then leave them to rot. as well as that they will eat bird eggs as an example Kiwi eggs.

Mice and Rats
Rats have constantly growing incisor teeth in both their upper and lower jaw. As a result rats constantly gnaw objects to wear them down and keep them from growing too long. Mice and rats have a bad habit of gnawing on electrical cables. on top of that they are very likely to carry diseases.

Cats
Cats will eat native and non-native birds as well as their eggs. they will also eat bats, lizards, weta and other insects. but there is a bright side in these feline creatures. they eat pests including rabbits, hares, mice, and rats.

Rabbits
Rabbits aren't pests themselves, they are pests because of their homes. Burrowing and scrapes cause extensive damage to erosion-prone soils, so much that agricultural soils can be rendered useless. They also eat native and
non-native plants.

How They All Got Here
Now we have hooked you up with the basics lets learn how they all even go here. So lets take a trip back in time to when the Maori came to New Zealand way back between 1250 and 1300, it was unknown if the rats just jumped on there boat or if they had brought them for food. More types of rats came when the early European settlers came to New Zealand on ships, making there population grow. They where destroying the land, they had to do something. So they introduced Ferrets, Stoats, and Weasels. Throughout the years there populations grew leaving us with the problem we have today.
